Mr McGinty's Monarchs

Mr. McGinty's Monarchs by Linda Vander Heyden is a children's picture book about a man who saves monarch caterpillars after their milkweed habitat is mowed down, teaching children about the monarch life cycle and conservation. Illustrated by Eileen Ryan Ewen, the story follows Mr. McGinty as he raises the caterpillars with his dog, Sophie, and shares them with a classroom, culminating in the release of the butterflies. The book serves as an educational tool, explaining the importance of milkweed and encouraging kids to help the species.
